Running Week

Each day of the week has a specific itinerary and special activities, click on the tabs below to see what we will do that day.
The days may be in different order than what is displayed depending on weather conditions or unforseen events.

3 MAY  –  Experience la “Dolce Vita”

  • Breakfast
  • Morning “shake out” run  Urbino city outskirts panoramic hilltop
  • Renaissance city of URBINO historic center ; visits with group or on your own Raphael’s House Museum, Oratories of S.Giovanni and S. Giuseppe and more
  • Lunch in a traditional trattoria
  • Ducal Palace guided visit
  • Free time exploring
  • Dinner

MAY 4 – Enjoy the Pace

  • Breakfast
  • Morning “shake out” run in Cesana Regional Nature Reserve
  • Roman city of FOSSOMBRONE historic center ; archeological museum, civic painting gallery Palaces Corte Alta and Bassa
  • Lunch at the Cafè del Corso, innovative cuisine with Ferrari team’s former personal chef Renzi
  • Leisurely stroll in town’s center, have an espresso or gelato and visit the baroque gem of S .Filippo church
  • Early reentry to Urbino pre race prep
  • Dining personal choice in group or individual info for options available

MAY 5 – COLLEMAR athon

  • Breakfast
  • Departure for MONDOLFO  or BARCHI starting point
  • COLLEMAR athon 2019 half marathon or full marathon (colle = hill,   mare = sea,  collemar  athon = hill to sea marathon)
  • Finish line events in FANO
  • Access to day spa
  • Post race dining personal choice in group or individual info for options available
  • Afternoon R&R or explore historic center , shops, museums, monuments and Vespa Festival
  • Dinner personal choice in group or individual info for options available
  • Reentry to Urbino

MAY 6 – Admire the Arts

  • Breakfast
  • Morning “fun run” or walk through rolling hills “olive country”
  • CARTOCETO visit and hands on experience with Lidia Bastianich’s favorite artisan pecorino cavern cheese makers and olive oil tour
  • Lunch in the cozy minuscule piazza of the walled village of BARGNI
  • Afternoon in URBANIA or Casteldurante, world famed center of renaissance majolica ceramics historic center, museums, workshops and Ducal Palace
  • Dinner hands on homemade pasta cooking lesson with Anna at the old riverside mill
  • Reentry to Urbino

MAY 7 – Do some serious Carbloading

  • Breakfast
  • Morning seaside “fun run”
  • PESARO, the City of bicycles and music
  • Weekly morning open market
  • Historic center shopping, museums, Rossini Opera theater, churches and “city life”
  • Lunch in a seaside restaurant in S. Bartolo’s National Park
  • Afternoon follow the panoramic seaside cliff road with a stop for espresso or gelato in FIORENZUOLA a tiny quaint fishing village continue on to GRADARA voted “il borgo più bello d’italia 2018″ Italy’s most beautiful little town 2018”, explore the little walled town and its castle, maze like allies and churches.
  • Dinner  “apericena” in characteristic osteria in the heart of the town
  • Reentry in Urbino

May 8 – Take in Nature’s Wonders

  • Breakfast
  • Morning “fun run” or walk in Furlo Gorge National Nature Reserve
  • Truffle hunt in ACQUALAGNA heart of truffle country and home of the National Truffle Fair
  • Visit with an artisan salumiere Alessandro
  • Lunch in bottega with smorgasbord of Acqualagna’s truffle delicacies
  • Afternoon trip to the hilltop town of FRATTEROSA capital of terracotta and Fava Bean Festival, visit artisan workshops and  hands on pottery making
  • Vineyard visit and wine tasting
  • Dinner ” arrivaderci ” countryfest at the winery  with traditional local food specialties
  • Re-entry in Urbino
